	Haley chose a silk organza in a bold ikat pattern of gold, woven over emerald, ruby, purple and burgundy stripes. Organza is shear, so it takes on the hues of its lining. Haley chose to line it with burgundy to bring out the depth of the fabric. She also chose to keep the emerald as a subtle undertone by folding it within the pleats thereby letting its repeat dictate their width and depth. We started with Vogue Pattern 8291. We dropped the ruffle around the neckline, raised the bodice to empire and stitched down the pleats to the end of Haley's long waist. A much more flattering line for Haley than either the inspiration dress by Chloe or the original pattern. Vogue 8291	Haley is one of our Dream It and Create It design students. This is her second project -- A dress of her own design.
